Re-animation of a blog I had in the Dark Ages what may have been 15 or more years ago. Name’s mine — or Outkast’s — but also mine, so why not. Don’t go looking for those old posts. Barebones layout because 25 years of advances in web design have shown that’s what’s best for reading.
Coverage skews garage and psych rock, hardcore punk, metal, what passes for indie film now, TV, local politics where it might hew universal (Atlanta is the center of the Earth, after all). Promo can be sent to decaturpsalms at gmail dot com — or you can ask for a mailing address, vinyl or cassette greatly appreciated. Honestly the foundation of this site is I find so much great music not being covered, so I can’t guarantee I’ll write about your project.
It’s not really talked about enough, but streaming new music is not providing artists with any kind of living like it used to, even if you pay for a streaming account. Do me a favor, and if you like something you read about on here enough to listen to it four, five, six times, pay for a vinyl or CD copy, or for digital files. Artists earn more from this than all of your streams combined, I stg!!! Even if you toss it in the trash and continue to stream, by vinyl or by file, just buy it!
Eventually this site will have the infrastructure to accept donations that will bestow more content to subscribers — interviews, mixes, essays, streetwear drops. Who knows.
